Dyness STACK100 Wins 2026 EUPD Germany Top Innovation Award at The smarter E Europe

Dyness has added another important European industry recognition to its energy storage portfolio. At The smarter E Europe 2026 in Munich, the company’s modular STACK100 battery energy storage system received the EUPD Research Top Innovation Award 2026 for Germany.

The award is independently confirmed by EUPD Research, which lists Dyness Digital Energy Technology and the STACK100 among the 2026 energy storage winners. EUPD’s official results also show the STACK100 receiving recognition for the Netherlands and Sweden, giving the platform three European market awards in the same programme.

For Dyness, the German award is particularly significant. The company had already received several EUPD Top Brand distinctions, but according to Dyness, this is its first EUPD Top Innovation Award. The recognition comes as European solar PV installations, commercial electrification and increasingly volatile electricity prices continue to drive demand for modular battery energy storage.

Why the EUPD Top Innovation Award Matters

EUPD Research evaluates its Top Innovation Award candidates across areas including technological performance, functionality, user experience, digitalisation, sustainability and market relevance. The 2026 awards reflected what EUPD describes as a broader industry shift away from standalone solar generation and towards integrated systems combining energy storage, intelligent management and flexible operation.

That context is important because battery storage is increasingly judged on more than nominal kWh.

Professional solar installers and EPC companies need systems that can be expanded, installed efficiently, integrated with compatible solar inverters and adapted to different residential and commercial load profiles.

The STACK100 has been designed around exactly this modular approach.

STACK100 Starts at 15.36 kWh and Scales to 76.8 kWh per Cluster

The Dyness STACK100 is a modular high-voltage energy storage system designed for both residential and commercial and industrial applications.

A single cluster can be configured between 15.36 kWh and 76.8 kWh. Dyness states that up to 12 clusters can operate in parallel, taking maximum system capacity to approximately 921.6 kWh.

That gives installers a wide operating range without moving to an entirely different battery family.

A smaller project can begin around 15 kWh, while larger homes, farms, workshops, warehouses or commercial buildings can use substantially more capacity. Multiple clusters can then extend the system towards the 1 MWh class where the complete inverter, PCS and electrical architecture support the configuration.

This kind of modularity is increasingly useful in European projects because energy requirements rarely remain static. EV charging, heat pumps, electric process loads and expanded solar PV arrays can all increase electricity consumption after the original installation.

LiFePO4 Technology and More Than 8,000 Cycles

The STACK100 uses LiFePO4 battery technology, which Dyness positions as the foundation for long-term stationary energy storage.

The current STACK100 technical information specifies a cycle life of at least 8,000 cycles together with a 10-year service reference. Each battery module operates at 51.2 V and 100 Ah. Dyness

Cycle-life figures should always be interpreted according to the manufacturer’s defined test and operating conditions rather than treated as a guaranteed identical result in every installation. Temperature, depth of discharge, charge rate and operating strategy all influence real battery ageing.

For B2B procurement, that means cycle life should be evaluated alongside usable capacity, power capability, warranty conditions and the expected operating profile of the site.

1C Charge and Discharge for Higher-Power Applications

One of the technically interesting elements of STACK100 is its 1C charge and discharge capability.

Dyness describes the platform as suitable for applications such as grid frequency regulation and charging infrastructure where relatively high battery power may be required. The manufacturer states that modules can support system operation up to 86.4 kW, depending on the configuration.

This matters because energy and power are not the same thing.

A large solar battery may contain plenty of stored energy but still be unsuitable for a site with short, high-power demand peaks if its maximum discharge rate is too low.

Commercial projects therefore need to be sized around both kWh and kW.

A warehouse with EV chargers, for example, may need relatively high discharge power for a short period. A residential property may instead prioritise longer-duration evening consumption. The correct battery configuration depends on the load profile rather than capacity alone.

Plug-and-Play, Rackless Installation

Dyness has also focused heavily on reducing installation complexity.

The STACK100 uses a rackless, free-stacking design, meaning the battery modules and BDU can be assembled without conventional internal rack wiring. Dyness states that a single cluster can be installed in approximately 30 minutes under the manufacturer’s installation concept.

Each module weighs approximately 47 kg, while the maximum dimensions of one complete cluster are around 591 × 390 × 1700 mm.

For a professional installer, faster mechanical assembly can reduce labour time, but the complete project still requires proper electrical protection, inverter or PCS connection, communication, commissioning and compliance with local installation requirements.

“Plug-and-play” therefore refers primarily to the modular battery architecture rather than eliminating the need for professional system design.

Built-In Fire Protection Reacts Within Five Seconds

Battery safety is another major part of the STACK100 design.

Dyness states that every battery module includes an integrated aerosol fire-extinguishing system designed to react within five seconds after detecting abnormal high-temperature conditions.

The manufacturer also highlights an internal cooling structure intended to maintain a temperature difference of no more than approximately 3°C between cells, with Dyness claiming this design can improve battery lifespan by around 20%.

These are product-design features rather than replacements for project-level safety engineering.

Commercial energy storage installations still require suitable clearances, fire strategy, cable and protection design, emergency access and local regulatory compliance.

For EPC companies and solar distributors, the most relevant approach is therefore to evaluate the battery at both product and system level.

Optional Self-Heating for Cold European Climates

The STACK100 can also be supplied with an optional automatic self-heating function.

Dyness specifies operation from approximately -20°C to 55°C with the heating option. The function is intended to maintain battery temperature at a level that allows safe charging and discharging during cold conditions.

That feature is particularly relevant in northern and central European markets where batteries may be installed in garages, technical areas or commercial buildings exposed to low winter temperatures.

Cold-temperature behaviour should nevertheless be considered during project design. Heating consumes energy, and system output may still depend on actual battery temperature and the manufacturer’s operating limits.

Why STACK100 Fits the Direction of the European Storage Market

Dyness positions the STACK100 across both residential and light commercial applications, which matches a broader shift taking place across Europe.

Solar PV installations are increasingly being combined with energy storage because electricity prices are more dynamic, self-consumption has greater value and grid connections are becoming more constrained.

EUPD itself highlighted energy storage as the dominant innovation category in its 2026 awards, noting that the market is increasingly moving towards flexible, resilient and integrated energy systems rather than standalone solar generation.

For installers, this means battery storage is becoming part of the initial design rather than something added years later.

A modern complete solar system may include solar panels, a hybrid solar inverter or PCS, energy storage, an energy management system, EV charging and controllable loads.

The battery therefore needs to integrate technically and commercially with the rest of the project.

What the Award Means for Professional Buyers

An industry award should never replace technical due diligence, but it can provide useful external validation.

The EUPD recognition confirms that STACK100 was evaluated within a wider group of energy storage innovations and selected for its combination of technological and market-oriented characteristics. EUPD’s own 2026 winners list identifies the product specifically for Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden.

For installers and B2B procurement teams, the next step remains project-specific verification.

Before ordering, buyers should confirm the required system capacity, compatible inverter or PCS, maximum power, number of clusters, communication architecture, cold-weather requirements and exact accessories needed for commissioning.

For larger commercial projects, warehouse stock alone is not enough. Delivery planning, commissioning support, spare parts and long-term replacement availability should also be included in the procurement decision.

Dyness Strengthens Its Position in Europe

Dyness says it has continued expanding its European distribution, installer and service network as demand for energy storage grows. The company currently markets products across residential, C&I and larger energy storage applications, with STACK100 positioned between traditional residential battery systems and larger commercial BESS platforms.

That middle ground is becoming increasingly important.

Many European projects are too large for a standard 10–20 kWh home battery but do not require a containerised multi-megawatt system. Farms, workshops, restaurants, warehouses, dealerships and larger residential properties often sit somewhere between the two.

A modular platform capable of scaling from 15.36 kWh to more than 900 kWh gives installers significantly more room to design around the actual project rather than forcing the customer into a fixed battery size.

The EUPD Top Innovation Award 2026 gives the Dyness STACK100 stronger visibility in that market. More importantly for professional buyers, the technical architecture behind the award addresses several of the practical issues that now matter most in European energy storage: modular expansion, high power, simplified installation, integrated safety and the ability to serve both residential and C&I applications.

For Solar&Solar Wholesale customers, STACK100 can therefore be considered as part of a complete energy storage project rather than simply as a standalone solar battery. Exact configuration, inverter compatibility, current European warehouse stock and delivery conditions should always be confirmed before procurement.
