LONGi’s HPBC 2.0 Modules Achieve TÜV SÜD PID-p Certification – A Global First
Industry-Leading Anti-PID Technology
LONGi has once again set a global benchmark by becoming the first company to receive the TÜV SÜD PID-p certificate. Its next-generation HPBC 2.0 modules—Hi-MO 9 and Hi-MO X10—have passed the stringent PID-p (Potential Induced Degradation – Polarization) testing. The tests were conducted under the PPP 58234A:2025 and IEC TS 62804-1 Ed2 (DTS) standards.
This certification highlights LONGi’s dedication to high-efficiency solar performance and long-term reliability in real-world conditions.
What Is PID-p and Why It Matters
PID-p is a serious challenge in today’s photovoltaic (PV) market. Unlike PID-s, which causes shunting due to leakage currents, PID-p leads to polarization degradation within the passivation layer of solar cells. This results in reduced power output, especially under voltage stress.
However, unlike PID-s, PID-p effects can be reversed with light exposure, particularly UV radiation. This unique behavior is now being examined globally by leading standards bodies like IEC and NREL.
LONGi’s modules showed exceptional resistance to PID-p under voltage, temperature, and light stress—confirming their durability and resilience.
LONGi’s Breakthrough with Hi-MO 9 and Hi-MO X10
Both Hi-MO 9 and Hi-MO X10 modules, built with HPBC 2.0 (Hybrid Passivated Back Contact) technology, were tested under the latest IEC TS 62804-1 Ed2 (DTS) protocols. These tests simulate harsh operating conditions to check for power loss due to PID-p.
The results?
✅ No power degradation
✅ Stable performance under prolonged stress
✅ Rapid recovery after UV exposure
This breakthrough shows LONGi’s continued push for higher standards in module efficiency, safety, and longevity.
Raising Global Solar Standards
By passing this certification, LONGi sets a new quality benchmark for solar wholesalers, distributors, and EPCs worldwide. The TÜV SÜD certification confirms the bankability of LONGi’s modules across a wide range of commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects.
“We’re proud to work with trusted institutions like TÜV SÜD,” said a LONGi representative. “Together, we raise the bar for what solar technology can deliver.”
Looking Ahead: Global Collaboration for Sustainable Energy
LONGi is not stopping here. The company plans to continue its close cooperation with global third-party certifiers and industry stakeholders. These efforts ensure not only product excellence but also align with global decarbonization and net-zero energy goals.
The certification also supports LONGi’s mission to drive clean energy adoption across key markets in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Trusted by Professionals in the PV Industry
LONGi’s HPBC 2.0 modules are already gaining traction among professional installers, solar EPCs, and #solarwholesale networks. The Hi-MO 9 module, with up to 670W power output, and Hi-MO X10, optimized for rooftop projects, deliver unmatched performance and aesthetics.
Both modules are compatible with all major #inverter brands and designed for integration with advanced #energystorage systems.
Stay Ahead With Proven Technology
With this TÜV SÜD PID-p certification, LONGi reaffirms its position as a leader in anti-PID technology and next-gen PV innovation. It’s a win for developers, installers, and investors who value performance, durability, and peace of mind.
