How to Connect a Wind Turbine to SolaX Inverters

SolaX inverters like the X3-Hybrid G4 and X1-MINI G4 support wind turbine inputs through their MPPT PV ports (PV1 or PV2), using a DC-coupled configuration. This allows flexible installation with maximum safety, even in off-grid or backup power systems

Practical connection flow:

Turbine → Wind Controller (with protection) → Rectifier → SolaX inverter PV input
💡 Always ensure safe DC voltage and proper grounding. The turbine must not be spinning during connection.

Key technical conditions:

  • Wind turbine output must be converted to DC using a rectifier

  • Use a dedicated wind controller with safety unload/breaker

  • Input voltage range: 120–600 V DC (X3 G4)

  • PV1 current limit: ≤ 20 A, PV2: ≤ 10 A

  • Set up VA curve (VA1 to VA12) directly in the inverter LCD menu to match turbine output

You can enable wind turbine support via:
Settings > Advanced Settings > Wind Turbine 1/2 > Enable, then configure VA Setup per port
